Edit a Picture into Black Polaroid’s Expertly
Step 1: Open a Family Picture
In our first step pick up a family picture from the computer and open it in Photoshop window. Go to File -> Open from Main Menu or press the command Ctrl + O. In new dialog window pick up the required picture and do click on Open button.
Step 2: Make Polaroid Duplicate Layer
In the second step make the duplicate in Layer Panel. For this purpose press the command Ctrl + J or go to Layer -> Duplicate Layer from the main menu. Enter the name of the duplicate layer as “Polaroid”.
See a below picture I have made a Polaroid name layer in Layer Panel.
Step 3: Plot Fill Black Rectangular Shape
After making duplicate layer now pick up the Rectangular Tool from Tool Bar and plot the shape with Fill #000000. Keep in mind we will make Polaroid’s through this shape.
See below picture the black Rectangular can be seen.
Step 4: Make Fill White Rectangular
After making a black shape, now it’s time to plot White fill Rectangular. For this purpose select again Rectangular Tool and plot the shape with Fill White and Stroke no color. Set it with Transform Controls option in Move Tool like below picture.
Step 5: Adjust Knockout Deep and Opacity
Now manage the blending properties of the White Rectangular Layer. So select it from Layer Panel and go to Layer -> Layer Style -> Blending Option from the main menu. A layer style Dialog Window will open, here set Opacity 0% and Knockout Deep. See below picture I have adjusted the values. More about Knockout see this https://helpx.adobe.com/photoshop/using/knockout-reveal-content-layers.html.
Step 6: Create New Layer for White Fill
Create a new transparent layer, for this purpose, select the Polaroid and do click on the second icon from Right Side in below of the Layer Panel. Enter the name of this layer as “Fill White”. After that go to Edit -> Fill from the main menu or press the command Shift + F5. A Fill dialog window will appear, here pick up the item White from Contents and do click on Ok button.
You will see a white fill layer will be created at above of Polaroid layer.
Step 7: Drop Shadow of Black Rectangular
Select the Black Rectangular layer from layer panel and go to Layer -> Layer Style -> Drop Shadow. A Layer Style window will expose, here adjust the values of the drop shadow as
Blend Mode: Multiple Black
After setting all values, you will see black shadow will appear around the Black Rectangular.
Step 8: Enclose Rectangular Layers in a Group
Now one Polaroid is ready, so envelop it in a group because from this we would make more duplicate Polaroid’s easily. Do the click on the 3rd icon from the right side in the below of layer panel and drag the White and Black Rectangular layer in this Group 1. See below picture I have made a group.
Step 9: Arrange More Duplicate Groups
Group 1 has been created, now make more duplicate Groups by press the command Ctrl + J. When you will duplicate a group the Polaroid will be added into a sheet because we have enclosed White and Black Rectangular in the group. Now place every Polaroid at a proper place like below picture.
Finally, we have created Polaroids on the picture just using Photoshop. I hope you will have enjoyed it and do practical work at your end according to my guidelines.
After discussion of the tutorial I conclude that, we can edit a photo in Polaroids easily. We have followed 8th steps to complete our work. First of all opened a family image from computer. Made duplicate layer and plotted white and black Rectangular layers. Dropped the shadow and made more groups. At the end adjusted the Polaroids collection at proper places. I hope you will have enjoyed it and will try it soon.
