Photoshop Tutorials: Drop the Black Shadow with 10px Size

Howdy! Today we will drop the black shadow with 10px size around the picture just using Photoshop. It is so simple and every can make it easily. I have made it many times in Photoshop that’s why I’m going to share with you. I will use the Layer Style Drop Shadow properties for this purpose. So be attentive and read out this tutorial complete. In the below all steps have been described in details.

Steps to Drop the Black Shadow with 10px Size

Step 1: Open an Image

In the first step open an original cat picture from computer drive. For this purpose press the command Ctrl + O or go to File -> Open from the main menu. Suddenly an open window will expose, here choose the cat picture from the computer.

When you will click on an open button, the cat image will appear in Photoshop window.

Step 2: Unlock the Background Layer

In the second step unlock the background layer. For this purpose do the double-click on the layer. You will see the lock will remove from the background layer. Now it can be used for further work.

Step 3: Reduce the Size of Picture

After removal of the lock from a layer, now select the Move Tool from Toolbar and check the Show Transformation Controls above the screen. The node will appear around the picture. With the help of nodes, you can expand or reduce the image size. Here we have needed reduce size now hold the right upper side node and drag it inside. Step 4: Drop Shadow from Layer Style

In our last step drop the shadow around the image. For this purpose select the layer 0 in Layer Panel. Now go to Layer -> Layer Style Drop Shadow. You will see a new window will expose. In this window adjust the values of shadow as

Blend Mode: Multiple black

Opacity: 75%

Angle: 35˚

Distance: 7px

Spread: 0%

Size: 10px

Step 5: Save Final Image in PNG Format

After making the shadow from the layer style window. Now save the final image in PNG image format. So go to File -> Save or press the command Ctrl + S and give the name of file and extension PNG in a new pop-up window and save on your computer.

Conclusion

After discussion of an above tutorial, I conclude that we can drop shadow quickly around the picture in Photoshop. I followed five steps to complete this all procedure. First of all opened a cat image from a computer. Reduced the size of the picture through Transforms Controls. Reduced the Opacity value of drop shadow and saved the final image in PNG image format.
